Portfolios due at Night Show

Horse project members are required to turn in their "up to date and complete" portfolio by the Night Show on July 7, 2009. For this mid-year review, up-to-date and complete is defined as:
  • Knowledge and skills gained since October 1, 2008 have been added.
  • 4-H learning experiences, awards, community service, leadership activities that have occurred since October 1, 2008 have been added.
  • The 4-H story and photo section do not have to be updated.

Portfolios will be reviewed and returned to members at the final show on July 25. Members who fail to turn in an up-to-date and complete portfolio will not be eligible to represent Weber County 4-H in any regional or state 4-H horse show (includes all disciplines - western, two-handed, English, and Working Ranch Horse).

Throughout the summer, members will continue to update their portfolio, then turn in their complete portfolio for county competition by October 1st. Portfolio awards will be presented at 4-H Achievement Night in November.

Upcoming July horse shows

The rained out show that was supposed to have been held on June 13 will now be held on July 25 at the Hooper Arena. To be fair to our 4-H members, the test questions for this show will be the chapters you “would have” been tested on for the June 13th show. This means:
· Juniors: HH Ch 4‐6, Rule Book
· Intermediates/Seniors: HH Ch 4‐6, HS Ch 5‐8, Rule Book

For our July shows, we will utilize these Western Riding Patterns:
  • Intermediates / Seniors
    July 7 (Pattern 2)
    July 18 (Pattern 3)
    July 25 (Pattern 2)
  • Juniors (Pattern 1 for all shows)
  • Novice (Green Pattern 1 for all shows)
